Pediatric Advanced Life Support
American Heart Association Emergency and Cardiovascular Care
Service Description
The American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) course is designed for healthcare professionals who care for infants and children in emergency, critical care, and acute care settings. This course focuses on the prevention, recognition, and treatment of life-threatening pediatric emergencies through a systematic, evidence-based approach. Participants will learn to assess and manage pediatric respiratory distress and failure, shock, and cardiopulmonary arrest using AHA PALS algorithms. The course emphasizes high-quality CPR, effective airway management, cardiac rhythm recognition, appropriate pharmacology, and strong team dynamics. Hands-on skills stations and realistic case-based simulations allow learners to apply knowledge in high-stress scenarios. Successful completion requires active participation, skills testing, and passing the AHA written exam. Upon completion, participants receive a two-year American Heart Association PALS Provider certification, equipping them with the confidence and competence to respond effectively to pediatric emergencies when every second counts.
