Service Description

The Tactical Emergency Casualty Care for Law Enforcement Officers (TECC-LEO) course is an intensive one-day program designed to prepare law enforcement officers and other non-EMS first responders to provide immediate, lifesaving medical care during violent critical incidents and other high-threat emergencies. Based on the nationally recognized TECC guidelines, this course teaches participants how to integrate tactical decision-making with evidence-based trauma care while operating in dynamic and potentially dangerous environments. Participants will develop the knowledge and practical skills needed to identify and manage life-threatening injuries using the principles of Direct Threat Care, Indirect Threat Care, and Evacuation Care. Through interactive lectures, hands-on skill stations, and realistic scenario-based exercises, students will gain confidence in controlling massive hemorrhage, managing airway emergencies, treating penetrating trauma, moving casualties to safety, and coordinating with EMS, fire, and rescue personnel during high-risk incidents. This course is ideal for patrol officers, school resource officers, corrections personnel, tactical team members, campus police, security professionals, and other first responders who may be required to provide immediate casualty care before EMS can safely access the scene. Upon successful completion, participants receive a TECC-LEO provider certificate and wallet card valid for four years, along with continuing education credit for eligible providers.
